Sunday June 28, 2026 Pinacle via the Red Trail, Bolton NY.
Great 2.2 Mile hike with a great view of Lake George at the summit. We started out early (highly recommended) while the day was sitll cool and bugs were at a minimum. Well maintained trail of moderate difficulty due to the mid-trail scramble and scree but overall it was a great hike
Monday June 29, 2026 Return visit to Spectacle Pond with Jeannette and Evan.
Always a great hike, Spectacle Pond is 3.1 mile round trip, well maintained, and basically an easy level trek.
Weather was perfect, but the bugs were a bit out of control today. Outdoor Research net bucket hats saved the day keeping the bugs out of our faces. As always, an early start is recommended, parking lot fills quickly, but not overcrowded as the high peaks
Early AM did some archery, 8 out of 12 hit target, not too bad! got progressively worse from that first round, but still happy with it overall.
