Friend or Foe?

Before I yank this out, would any of you gardeners out there know if this is a large leafed weed or is it a wildflower that made its way up from Jurassic Park. FYI the leaf you are seeing measures roughly 14″ long

  1. Looks like Bitter Dock (Rumex obtusifolius) and it can grow leaves bigger than 14″ over here in the UK.

It’s a weed by nature but not a terribly bad one. Dig it out if you don’t like it. The flowers are nothing of any beauty, but if you have cattle of sheep it can upset their stomachs.

If you have nettle stings crushing the leaves of the Dock plant and rubbing them on the effected area will help alleviate the sting and itch.
